VOWEL SELECTION

All the rhymes in this program have been divided into separate groupings, or files, based upon two factors, Rhyme Types and Vowel Sounds.

There are 3 Rhyme Types and 15 Vowel Sounds, giving a total of 45 different groups from which to choose.

RHYME TYPES

The rhyme types are categorized as single, double, or triple, dependant upon the number of syllables in the word, counting from the Vowel Sound on to the end.

Example: For the vowel sound -ay

				Rhyme Type

	pay single
	pay-ing double
	pay-ab-le triple

While there are only 5 vowels in the alphabet (A, E, I, O and U) each has several different sounds depending upon the word in which it is used.

The 15 vowel sounds shown on the left of the screen are grouped by their primary vowel, and their sound.
